Celebrate at the kickoff event on Monday, June 1 at Carrville Community Centre

Kick off your summer with June is Recreation and Parks Month! Celebrated each June, this annual initiative highlights the many ways parks and recreation support our physical, social and mental well-being. From fitness to family fun, there are plenty of ways to get involved and stay active all month long.

The City of Vaughan is offering a series of $5 activities throughout June, including a kickoff event on Monday, June 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Carrville Community Centre (655 Thomas Cook Ave.).

The event will include an official welcome from Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council, along with free activities and giveaways for all ages. Participants can get moving with DanceFIT, show off their creativity with cupcake decorating and hacky sack making, and take part in the June is Recreation and Parks Month scavenger hunt. There will also be youth three-on-three basketball, glitter tattoos and free popcorn. Participants can learn lifesaving skills through CPR and lifesaving demonstrations, explore vendor booths and discover more about programs and services offered in the community.
