Vaughan Culture Days Kicks Off Tomorrow!

Join us at 1 p.m. at the City Playhouse Theatre

Arts, culture and community take centre stage as Vaughan Culture Days returns today, Friday, Sept. 18, until Sunday, Oct. 4. As a Festival Hub for the Ontario Culture Days Festival for the fourth consecutive year, there will be dozens of free events for everyone to enjoy! 

Join us to kick off the festivities at the Vaughan Culture Days launch event tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 19, at the City Playhouse Theatre (102-1000 New Westminster Dr.). The event will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will celebrate the rich arts, culture and heritage of our community.

Enjoy a fun-filled day with plenty of entertainment, including an official ceremony with Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council at 1:10 p.m., music and cultural dance performances, and arts and culture activities (such as bookmark making and earring making).

This year, there are more than 50 vibrant and diverse activities and experiences taking place across various locations in Vaughan, including: 

• Grandparents Hike and Storytelling
  • Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • Mackenzie Glen District Park, 220 Cranston Park Ave.

• Where Are the Children? Healing the Legacy of the Residential Schools exhibit
  • Tuesday, Sept. 22 to Tuesday, Oct. 1

  • Vaughan City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.

• Great Novels Book Club
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Bathurst Clark Resource Library, 900 Clark Ave. W.

• Flavour Fusion
  • Monday, Sept. 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. 
  • Father E. Bulfon Community Centre (Activity room 1), 8141 Martin Grove Rd.

• Creative Age: Drum and Percussion Circle
  • Friday, Oct. 2 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Dufferin Clark Library, 1441 Clark Ave. W.
