Get new green bins, garbage tags and blue boxes online!
With summer holidays wrapping up soon, you may have some extra waste materials to place at the curb – which may require more bins or bags! Here’s how to buy new green bins, garbage tags and blue boxes online and in person.
Buy or exchange City green bins online
You can exchange and buy green bins online through Service Vaughan. Green bins are $27 plus HST and the bin will be delivered right to your home – delivery fees apply.
If your City-issued green bin is broken or damaged, you can sign up online through Service Vaughan to exchange it for a new one, free of charge. The City of Vaughan logo must be on the bin to be eligible for a free exchange.
Buy garbage tags online
The garbage limit is three bags or items every other week – including large and bulky items. A paid garbage tag is required for any item exceeding the three-item limit and can be purchased through Service Vaughan. Garbage tags are $26 per sheet. Each sheet includes 10 tags. The tags will be mailed to your home. With the use of garbage tags, you may set out a maximum of 13 garbage items.
Buy or exchange City blue boxes online
Purchasing another blue box may help prevent overfilling and assist in keeping your materials from blowing away on windy days! The 83-litre blue boxes are $15 plus HST, and the 121-litre blue boxes are $49 plus HST. The blue box will be delivered right to your home - delivery fees apply.
If your City-issued blue box is broken or damaged, you can sign up online through Service Vaughan to exchange it for a new one, free of charge. The City of Vaughan logo must be on the box to be eligible for a free exchange. Blue box exchanges will be available until Dec. 31, 2025.

What goes where?
If you don’t know where to dispose of an item, use the search function in the online ‘What Goes Where?’ sorting tool to check. You can also download the free Recycle Coach app from the Apple App Store or Google Play for more sorting help. The app provides waste-less tips and a personalized collection schedule with optional alerts on what to put out at the curb each week.
