Advance Vote opens Oct. 9

Register now to vote online in Vaughan's 2026 Municipal Election

Eligible Vaughan voters can register now to cast their ballot online during the City of Vaughan's 2026 Municipal Election Advance Vote period, running from Friday, Oct. 9 to Sunday, Oct. 18. 

Online voting is the only option during the Advance Vote and requires advance registration. Voters must register to vote online by Thursday, Oct. 15.

Residents who choose to vote online can do so securely and conveniently from a mobile device, tablet or computer. To participate, voters must first register at vaughan.ca/elections.

Voters who prefer to vote in person on Voting Day, Monday, Oct. 26, will receive a separate voter notice with details about their assigned polling location.

Register for online voting

Before registering for online voting, voters must already be on the Voters’ List. To check your status or get on the Voters’ List, visit voterregistration.vaughan.ca.

To complete the registration process, voters will need:

• acceptable identification 
• a unique email address 

Once registered, voters will receive their online voting credentials by email. Visit vaughan.ca/elections to register for online voting.

Voting online

After registering, voters will receive an email containing:

• a unique 16-digit PIN 
• a link to the online voting platform 

Online voting opens at 12 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Eligible voters can cast their ballot online in one of three ways:

• using a mobile device, tablet or computer 
• at an internet voting kiosk at a Vaughan Public Libraries location 
• with assistance at a Voter Assistance Centre

Elections Vaughan staff will be available to assist residents who:

• need access to a device. 
• require help using the online voting platform. 
• need to be added to the Voters' List. 
• need to register for online voting.
