Kleinburg Village Improvements Project Updates

Construction for the Kleinburg Village Improvements Project has begun and is expected to be completed by summer 2026. 

Weekly construction updates

 

April 13 - 17

  • Contractor completing removal of curbs and hardscape from Kellam Street to Stegman’s Mill Road intersection (west side of Islington Avenue).
    • Traffic control and temporary lane disruptions are in place during the work.
  • Contractor completing installation of sidewalks, driveways, and layby parking.
  • Contractor installing planter boxes on completed hardscape areas. 
  • Contractor completing removals and grading at southwest corner of Islington Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive.
  • Contractor completing general cleanup and temporary road repairs.

 

April 7 - 10

  • Contractor removal of valve chambers and interlock restoration.
  • Silt fence repairs on Islington Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive.
  • Ditch regrading and flow rectification Northwest of Major Mackenzie Drive.
  • Interlock and curb removal Stegman's Mill Road intersection west.

 

March 23 - 27

  • Contractor site remobilization and minor clean up.
  • Traffic control set up and signage installation.
  • Pothole repair.
  • Full remobilization and construction start-up March 30, 2026.

 

January 2 - March 2026

  • Electrical contractor onsite to repair damaged temporary street lighting pole on the corner of Stegman's Mill Road and Islington Avenue.
  • Contractor demobilization and clean up in preparation for winter shutdown.
  • Work will pause as of Wednesday, Dec. 24 and will resume in March or April 2026, weather permitting.
