City of Vaughan's International Women's Day Event

Program Information

  • Official remarks by Mayor Steven Del Duca 
  • Keynote address by Suzanne Knight, MBA, MA, an award-winning expert on transformational change and the future of work. CEO and Founder of mBolden, a human capital consulting firm, Suzanne works with organizations around the world helping them anticipate and adapt to change so they can thrive, rather than just survive. In 2023, she was recognized on The Peak’s Emerging Leaders List (under the age of 40) and as one of DMZ’s Women of the Year.
  • Music by DJ MB.
  • Panel “Empowering Women Leaders: Driving Progress in Vaughan” where women entrepreneurs will share their insights and experiences in leading projects and businesses while promoting women’s empowerment and progress in their respective fields.

Panelists:

  • Hina Zahid: Co-founder of the non-profit organization Muslim Women of Vaughan

  • Madonna Cicconi: Founder of the Cicco Aroma brand and owner of The Wellness Studio by Cicco Aroma

  • Ramona Gallagher: CEO of Business Basics, coach, mentor and consultant

  • Agnes Lan: President at Change Connect Inc.

 

Additional Details

  • Event features a networking space both before and after the formal agenda where women-led organizations and/or organizations that offer services supporting women and girls in Vaughan can showcase their work and get to know what other leaders and entrepreneurs are doing to drive transformative change in our city and region.

  • Giveaways and complimentary refreshments.

 

Theme

The theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2024 (IWD 2024) is “Invest in women: Accelerate progress” echoing the UN Women’s initiative to highlight the strategies for fostering inclusive and equitable societies through the economic empowerment for women and girls.
