International Women's Day

International Women’s Day has grown into a Global Day of Recognition, acknowledgement and celebration of women that reflects upon their achievements and struggles.

 

On Wednesday, March 8th, the City of Vaughan hosted its annual International Women's Day Celebration. 


The event included a keynote speaker, performances, and a networking space where women-owned businesses and start-ups showcased their work, and learned what other female leaders and entrepreneurs are doing to drive transformative change in our city and region.


Event highlights:

  • The theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2023 (IWD 2023) is, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality” to celebrate the women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education
  • Dr. Eugenia Addy was the keynote speaker for the event. Dr. Addy is a Canadian chemist who has dedicated her life educating present and future generations in the STEM field through her own experience and as the CEO of Visons of Science Network for Learning (VoSNL). Click here to learn more about Dr. Addy’s Bio
