In April of 2002, Mrs. Gallucci was diagnosed with leukemia. While fighting this disease, she became involved in fundraising efforts on behalf of Princess Margaret Hospital. While still in hospital, she befriended and supported others who were also suffering from various forms of leukemia.

Through collaboration with residents and stakeholders, the City developed designs for an innovative, accessible, sustainable and safe building that fosters physical activity, health and wellness for all citizens.

Ms. Wilding, a Ward 2 resident and seniors' group volunteer, was recognized for her commitment to maintaining the beauty of the Woodbridge streetscape and ongoing communication with her local councillor, providing feedback on a variety of issues.

About Garnet A. Williams Community Centre
The Garnet A. Williams Community Centre is located at 501 Clark Ave. W. It is a 125,000-square-foot facility, originally constructed between 1982-84. With an indoor arena, leisure pool, fitness centre, gymnasium, community and activity rooms, squash and racquetball courts and office space for City staff, the community centre is a well-known gathering space for residents in the Thornhill community.

The Maple resident and mother of three has been an active volunteer with the York Catholic District School Board, the Maple Santafest Parade, Vaughan in Motion to Cure Cancer, and has assisted the City of Vaughan Parks department on a number of cleanup initiatives in the community.
