Building Vaughan
An overview of the Planning and Growth Management reports presented in May
City building doesn’t happen overnight. Well before construction begins, developments undergo a careful review by City staff, Vaughan Council, public agencies (such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, York Region and provincial ministries, where appropriate) … and you! Public feedback is a vital part of the planning process and there are many ways to have a say before applications are approved.

Celebrating our crosswalk heroes
School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week is June 5 to June 9
It’s School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week! From Monday, June 5 to Friday, June 9, the City of Vaughan is celebrating and recognizing our dedicated team of 120 crossing guards who help students, parents and guardians travel safely to and from school each day.
Public Meetings continue in June
Pre-register to speak to Council by phone, teleconference or in-person
City of Vaughan Committee and Council meetings continue in June with in-person and virtual attendance options for Members of Council and the public.
Public consultation remains a vital part of the planning and city-building process. There are many ways you can participate in meetings and have your say, including:

Stay safe during extreme heat
And remember not to leave pets or kids in hot cars!
It’s going to be a hot one! A heat warning is in effect for the remainder of the week for Vaughan – and extreme temperatures can be dangerous for everyone, especially outdoor workers, older adults, some people living with disabilities and children, particularly infants.
Here are some tips to beat the heat from the City of Vaughan:
If you feel dizzy, weak or overheated:
