The City of Vaughan’s 2012/2013 Fall & Winter Recreation Guide will be delivered to Vaughan homes by July 31, along with City Playhouse Theatre, Culture Days and Doors Open Vaughan brochures.
The award-winning guide received the 2012 Parks and Recreation Ontario Award for Innovation. It features leisure opportunities for all ages and abilities, including education, language, science, technology, culinary classes, creative and performing arts, health and wellness, sports, swimming and skating.

The Thornhill Outdoor Pool, located at 28 Centre Street, is now open for the 2012 summer season, offering public swimming, lessons and drop-in activities.
The pool’s regular hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Labour Day. Special holiday hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. will be in effect for the Civic Holiday, August 6 and Labour Day, September 3.
Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council were joined by CTV’s Tom Brown and the East Woodbridge Community Association to celebrate the official launch of Vaughan’s “Dazzle Me!” program at Chancellor Community Centre on June 25.
