Protecting our pollinators

City offers free seed packets and activities to mark Pollinator Week

The City of Vaughan has proclaimed Pollinator Week from Monday, June 22 to Sunday, June 28, and is taking this opportunity to raise awareness and help protect the birds, bees, butterflies, bats and beetles in the community. This week is recognized internationally and stands to promote these vital creatures that sustain the environment through pollination.

Stay cool this weekend

The City urges residents to take precautions during extreme temperatures

Hot weather is in the forecast this weekend, and the City of Vaughan is reminding residents to take precautions to stay cool.

Extreme heat affects everyone. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors. Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place.
