Through the ARTonBOXES Program 10-Year Implementation Strategy, more than 100 traffic signal boxes will be transformed into public art installations at major intersections across the city by 2034. This initiative supports creative placemaking in Vaughan by enhancing neighbourhoods, beautifying streetscapes and discouraging graffiti.
Each design becomes a temporary public art asset in the Civic Art Collection of the Vaughan City-Wide Public Art Program, allowing residents to experience unique public art in their own neighbourhoods and communities.

This summer, everyone will notice something new and inspiring as they move through our city – 10 more traffic signal boxes transformed into vibrant works of art through our ARTonBOXES program. These installations remind us that even in a growing, dynamic city like Vaughan, nature is always close by – whether it’s in our parks, our green spaces, or, now, right at our street corners.
