Vaughan launches digital hub for easier event planning
Planning an event in Vaughan just got easier. The City of Vaughan has launched a new Tourism Resource Portal – a centralized, always-available hub that gives meeting and event planners the tools, connections and information they need to bring events to the city.
As event activity continues to grow, the portal supports a more streamlined and efficient planning process, while enhancing the city’s competitiveness as a destination of choice.
Here are a few highlights of what the Tourism Resource Portal includes:
- Comprehensive planning resources – A one-stop shop for planners at all stages – whether they are considering Vaughan or have already secured an event – with tools and materials to support successful event delivery.
- Venue listings and hotel connections – Direct access to a range of event spaces and accommodations across Vaughan to support planning and logistics.
- Funding and support programs – Information about available grant opportunities and supports to assist organizers in delivering their events.
- City resources and permits – Links to essential municipal services, including City facilities, the Special Events Permit process and Vaughan’s Indigenous Land Acknowledgement.
- Centralized and always-available access – A digital hub available at any time, enabling planners, organizers and stakeholders to find up-to-date information quickly and efficiently.
In 2025, Tourism Vaughan supported 281 leisure events, activations and festivals, 42 business conferences, 30 sports tournaments and two familiarization tours, demonstrating the city’s growing role as a hub for events and tourism.
The Tourism Resource Portal aligns with the Council-approved Vaughan Destination Master Plan (PDF), which identifies leisure, sport and business events as key drivers of overnight visitation and economic activity. The initiative supports ongoing efforts to enhance tools and resources for event organizers and tourism stakeholders.
By consolidating essential information into a single platform, the portal reduces the need to navigate multiple websites and improves coordination among planners, stakeholders and City services. This approach strengthens Vaughan’s competitive advantage by offering a more seamless and user-friendly planning experience compared to other municipalities.
