Vaughan hosts fourth annual South Asian Heritage Month celebration
On May 20, the City of Vaughan proudly hosted its fourth annual South Asian Heritage Month celebration at Vaughan City Hall.
“Every May, the City of Vaughan proudly recognizes South Asian Heritage Month and the rich heritage and many contributions of our South Asian residents. It was truly wonderful to see so many friends, families and neighbours come together to celebrate at Vaughan City Hall,” said Mayor Steven Del Duca.
“Our annual celebration is always a highlight, and, once again, this evening was filled with vibrant energy, captivating performances and delicious food. I want to thank everyone for joining us and the City’s Events team for putting on another great event. On behalf of the City of Vaughan, I wish everyone celebrating a happy and meaningful South Asian Heritage Month!”
This occasion honoured and commemorated the richness of South Asian art, heritage and culture. Festivities included greetings from Mayor Del Duca as well as traditional food, music and dance performances.
