Vaughan Culture Days

Culture Days is a national celebration of arts, culture and heritage, taking place this year from Friday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Oct. 13.

 

The City of Vaughan has been selected once again as a Festival Hub for Ontario Culture Days for 2024, joining 12 other communities across the province to invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts and culture in our communities. Requirements for Participants (Booths, Food Vendors)

  1. Participant Agreement Form: Vaughan Food and Culture Festival
  2. Payment
    1. This year only – discounted rate of $100 + HST for food vendors and non-profit/artists
  3. A Certificate of Insurance naming the Corporation of the City of Vaughan as an additional insured – use the City’s template 
    1. If you are unable to get a Certificate of Insurance, email vaughancelebrates@vaughan.ca to find out how to purchase one-day event insurance.

 

Food vendors also need to provide:

  1. The York Region Vendor Application Form will be sent directly to York Region Health Department and provided to Events Staff.
    1. Form is found under “Vendors”: https://www.york.ca/health/food-safety/special-events-farmers-markets-and-wild-game-dinners
  2. Any applicable licences (restaurant licence, refreshment vehicle licence, etc.)

 

What to expect as a participant (booths, food vendors)?

  • 10'x10' spot unless you have a food truck or purchase additional spaces
  • 1 table and 2 chairs will be provided and more can be rented for a small fee
  • Many booth participants and food vendors bring a 10'x10' tent with tent weights (staking is not permitted); no tent, pavilion, etc. is provided
  • Electrical access and Wi-Fi are not provided

Culture Days 2024

Ontario Culture Days has set September 30, 2024, aside to create space exclusively for events organized to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, including those sharing First Nations, Métis, and/or Inuit experiences and perspectives celebrating the creative and cultural expressions of Indigenous people and communities.

  • The Ontario Culture Days Festival is an annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage taking place each fall across the province. Each year, hundreds of artists, organizers and creative minds join together during this three-week festival to produce free, fun and inclusive programming for the community to enjoy.

  • The City of Vaughan ranked eighth nationally as a Top Participating Community and fifth among mid-sized cities in the 2023 Culture Days, with 72 events organized for the 2023 celebration.
