Join us for Vaughan’s Fire Safety Open House!
Free, family-friendly activities at Vellore Village Community Centre on Sept. 28
Smoke alarms save lives – and so does being prepared for an emergency! Gather your friends and family and join Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service at the second annual Fire Safety Open House to learn how.
You’re invited to a day of free, family-friendly activities on Sunday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Vellore Village Community Centre (1 Villa Royale Ave.)!
During the event, you can:
check out the Hazard House display
indulge in free popcorn
learn how to manage cooking fires in the test kitchen
participate in a fire hose target practice
strike a pose at the photobooth
tour a firetruck
visit interactive fire safety stations
and so much more!
This year’s open house falls on Test Your Smoke Alarm Day. This annual initiative, proclaimed by the City of Vaughan, is led by Ontario’s Office of the Fire Marshal to urge residents to test their smoke alarms to make their homes safe. Test Your Smoke Alarm Day was launched to encourage all Canadians to learn more about smoke alarms, fire safety and home fire escape planning. Learn more at savedbythebeep.ca.
