We’re hiring crossing guards for the 2026-27 school year 

 

Are you looking for meaningful, flexible work in your community? Look no further – apply to become a crossing guard for the upcoming school year! 

 

This important role helps children and families travel safely to and from school each day. The City of Vaughan has crossing guards who have been employed for 20, 25 and even 30 years! 

 

Some benefits include:

  • regular, part-time hours.

  • weekends, holidays and summers off.

  • early morning and afternoon hours, leaving the bulk of the day free for other activities.

  • up to three shifts per day – one in the morning, one at lunch and one in the afternoon; however, most locations only have morning and afternoon shifts.

  • varying shift times between 35 to 90 minutes depending on location. 

 

With 127 crosswalk locations throughout Vaughan, full-time and standby crossing guards are needed to serve all locations. You can view a map of all crossing guard locations in Vaughan, including school bell times.
