Recreation Programs

Master chef? Great dancer? Computer (geek) expert?
Get paid to do what you’re good at! If you’re an authority on creative or culinary arts, a health and wellness guru, or a sports superstar, you have a teachable skill!

We’re looking for talented individuals to teach a diverse range of recreation programs for all ages – from preschool to older adult at Vaughan community centres. Choose from specialty courses or represent our flagship brands: Vaughan Sports, City Playhouse Academy, Vaughan Playschool.
Virtual Hiring Event: Saturday, November 19

Meet with the Recreation Services team during our virtual hiring event on Saturday, November 19 from 9am to 5pm. Interviews will be held for part-time ‘Program Instructors’ to teach a diverse range of recreation programs during the winter session, starting January 14, 2023. 

Individuals ages 16 years and older with specialized skills in the following areas are encouraged to apply: 

  • Skating 
  • Basketball 
  • Dance
  • Pickleball 
  • Tai Chi

20-minute interviews will be conducted online. To be considered, register for our ‘Recreation Program Virtual Hiring Event’ at vaughan.perfectmind.com by Friday, November 11 at 11:59pm.   

Qualified candidates will be contacted to book an interview time. 

Daytime, evening and weekend shifts are available, depending on the position. Compensation for positions varies by position and ranges from $15.50 to $19.85 per hour.

  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Social Insurance Number
  • Standard First Aid & CPR-C

  • Specialty certifications where required

Register for a Virtual Hiring Event (search under ‘Recreation Staff Recruitment > Become a Recreation Program Instructor’). Once you have registered, a Recreation Services staff will call you to coordinate an interview time and email you a link to the virtual interview.
