Plan of Subdivision Approval Process

When a landowner proposes to divide a parcel of land into more than three separate parcels, the Planning Act requires the owner to submit a Draft Plan of Subdivision Application to ensure:

 

  • the land is suitable for the proposed new use
  • the proposal conforms to the Official Plan and Provincial, Regional and City policies
  • the existing and future residents of the community are protected from developments that are inappropriate or may place undue stress on community services, facilities or finances
