Join the Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program (SNAP) in planting three new pollinator garden beds at the newly revitalized Gallanough Park! Pollinators play a vital role in plant reproduction and fruit development, supporting many of the world’s favourite foods—including apples, blueberries, and even chocolate!
Come plant a variety of native species that will help sustain our local pollinator population and create a thriving habitat for years to come!
Home Flood Protection Workshop (Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program)
Join the Thornhill SNAP for an engaging "Home Flood Protection Workshop", led by the AET Group- an environmental consultancy with extensive experience in flood risk assessment.
Learn about the increasing risk of flooding in Canadian communities, the impacts it can have on your home and well-being, and what practical steps you can take to reduce your risk. This session will cover strategies like rainwater management, insurance considerations, basement flood protection features, and other key practices that help keep water out and get it out fast.
Earth Day Litter Clean-Up (Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program)
Join the Thornhill SNAP Community Champion Network (TSCCN) for a fun and meaningful Community Litter Clean-up at Heffhill Park in honour of Earth Day!
Litter clean-ups are an easy and impactful way to care for our environment and show some love to the planet. Bring your friends and family as we work together to make the park cleaner, greener, and more beautiful for everyone.
We’ll provide all the equipment you need, but feel free to bring your own gloves if you prefer.
