City marks national day to recognize the essential and
invaluable role of water
Did you know that as you live, walk and travel through Vaughan,
there are more than 1,000 kilometres of watermains, nearly 1,000 kilometres of
sanitary sewers and over 800 kilometres of storm sewers moving water below you?
Every year, 35-billion litres of fresh clean water is delivered to homes and
businesses across the city – that is equivalent to 14,000 Olympic-sized
swimming pools!
