City marks national day to recognize the essential and
invaluable role of water
Did you know that as you live, walk and travel through Vaughan,
there are more than 1,000 kilometres of watermains, nearly 1,000 kilometres of
sanitary sewers and over 800 kilometres of storm sewers moving water below you?
Every year, 35-billion litres of fresh clean water is delivered to homes and
businesses across the city – that is equivalent to 14,000 Olympic-sized
swimming pools!

Business resiliency. Planning. Marketing. Finance. These are some of the concepts that will be explored throughout Small Business Week, which kicks off today in the City of Vaughan and is going virtual this year.
Learn how to reduce waste at home and in the community
Reduce, reuse, relearn! Waste Reduction Week kicks off today and runs until Sunday, Oct. 25. Throughout the week, the City of Vaughan will provide tips on how residents can reduce garbage and make more environmentally conscious decisions as well as develop new waste habits.
Fall weather brings beautiful autumn colours to trees across Vaughan with leaves changing to shades of red, orange and yellow. But what’s not so exciting is all the foliage that needs to be raked up. The City of Vaughan is reminding citizens that weekly fall leaf and yard waste will begin the week of Oct. 20 until Dec. 11.
