Bonfires, campfires and fire pits are prohibited until further notice

Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS) has issued a fire ban on all outdoor and open-air burning, effective Tuesday, Aug. 12, in response to the ongoing dry and hot weather conditions. 

Summer is in full swing, and leaf and yard waste collection will continue for the rest of the season. Before you set your waste out, it’s important to remember what yard waste will be accepted on collection day.

Here’s what you can set out for leaf and yard waste collection:

• branches (maximum 1.5 metres long)

• leaves

• flowers and plants
