Vaughan’s highest civic honour awarded to nine remarkable community leaders
Mayor Steven Del Duca presided over the City of Vaughan’s 2025 Order of Vaughan investiture ceremony at City Hall on Nov. 19, when nine community leaders were recognized for their efforts to make Vaughan a great place to live, work and visit.
The 2025 Order of Vaughan was awarded to the following nine remarkable individuals for their pivotal role in shaping the community:
- Antonio Ienco – Arts and Entertainment category
- Dr. Aslam Daud – Not-For-Profit category
- Dirk Drieberg – Athletics category
- Jason Cleugh – Spirituality category
- Lal Khan Malik - Spirituality category
- Mara Orrico – Business category
- Marina Gurizzan – Philanthropy category
- Rabbi Mendel Kaplan – Spirituality category
- Tony Monaco – Media and Communications category
“I was honoured to preside over the City’s Order of Vaughan investiture ceremony. This year, nine remarkable individuals were appointed to the Order of Vaughan for exemplifying what it means to serve with heart and purpose, making our city a better place to work and live,” said Mayor Steven Del Duca. “Our honourees come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a wealth of unique skills and perspectives. On behalf of my Council colleagues, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to this year’s recipients. Thank you for your dedication to going above and beyond for our community.”
The Order of Vaughan was created to pay tribute to individuals who have made a meaningful impact on Vaughan’s civic life and dedicated their time and talent to the city’s ongoing success.
It recognizes leaders within the following categories: arts and entertainment, media and communications, athletics, health and wellness, business, philanthropy, public service, education, science and technology, not-for-profit, equity and diversity, accessibility, environment and spirituality. To date, 80 people have been invested in the Order of Vaughan.
