The City of Vaughan kicked off the holiday season in dazzling style on Nov. 12, as residents joined Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council for the third annual Festive Lights celebration at Vaughan City Hall.

The evening sparkled with live entertainment, interactive activities and refreshments, bringing the community together to share in the joy of the season.

“Festive lights brighten up our city, help spread cheer and serve as a symbol of hope and joy no matter what holiday you are celebrating,” said Mayor Del Duca. “The City of Vaughan’s annual Festive Lights program is an opportunity for the community to come together and share in one another's cultural celebrations of the season. It was truly a special evening at Vaughan City Hall as many residents gathered to celebrate the launch of the program, now in its third year, and ring in the festivities. Whether you’re showcasing your festive lights, submitting a nomination or enjoying as a spectator, I hope you have a wonderful start to the holiday season!”

Nominate your favourite displays!

The Festive Lights program celebrates residents and businesses who go above and beyond with creative, eye-catching light displays. Vaughan residents are encouraged to nominate themselves, a neighbour or a business whose lights shine bright.

Nominations can be emailed to cultureevents@vaughan.ca by Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, and should include the property owner’s name, address, email and photos of the lights. Entries will be scored based on the following criteria:

  • Design incorporates the use of energy-efficient lights.

  • Overall esthetic of the property is visually appealing.

  • Property uses lights and decorations.

  • Property shows creativity in design.

  • Property is well maintained.

Those selected will be contacted to pick up a Festive Lights sign at their local community centre to display on their front lawn or in their front window.
