Prepare Your Garden for Spring Before Winter Arrives!
Join a FREE seed-saving workshop on Nov. 7
Don’t let this year’s garden go to waste – sow your seeds instead! Join the City of Vaughan for a FREE indoor workshop to find out how to collect, store and preserve seeds from your favourite plants so you can grow an even bigger and better garden next spring!
You asked, we listened! Earlier this year, participants in the Vaughan Gardeners program shared the gardening topics they wanted to learn more about – including seed saving! Now, we’re inviting residents to the next workshop, “Seed Saving: Harvest Today, Grow Tomorrow,” on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Vellore Village Community Centre (1 Villa Royale Ave).
Delivered in partnership with York Region Food Network, this workshop will cover how to collect, clean and sow seeds from your garden for re-use, including proper storage and preparation techniques. Participants will get hands-on experience at a harvesting station and receive a native pollinator seed packet to take home. This session is suitable for gardeners of all skill levels, whether you're a first-time planter or a seasoned green thumb!
Space is limited, so register now to claim your spot! Learn more about the Vaughan Gardeners program and future workshop dates at vaughan.ca/gardeners.
