Plan Ahead: Register for P.A. Day and December Break Camps!
It’s never too early to plan for your kids’ upcoming days off school. Get a jump on the season and explore the City of Vaughan’s P.A. Day and December Break camps! Camps take place at various community centres and the Vaughan Studios & Event Space. Check out the Fall eGuide to see options and then visit vaughan.ca/camps to register online.
Register your kids for P.A. Day camps
P.A. Day camps run on Monday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Nov. 20. Camps are available at select community centres for kids ages three to 14 years old. Hours for some P.A. Day camp programs are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., but others operate on different schedules. Check the hours of the camp you wish to register for. Here are a few options to explore:
- Paint Your Own Pottery: Jungle Animals (for ages three to 14 years old; runs 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Delivered in partnership with Mess for Fun
Apply your unique artistic style with pottery paint. The piece will be glazed, fired in a kiln and ready for pickup the following week at your respective community centre.
- Cartoon Computer Animation (for ages six to 11 years old; runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Delivered in partnership with Kids Great Minds
Dive into STEAM and the creative world of cartoon animation! Learn storyboarding, create short computer animated cartoons, television shows or movies, and develop logical thinking skills. This camp is offered on Friday, Nov. 20 at Rosemount Community Centre.
- School's Out! (for ages seven to 12 years old; runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Enjoy a day of camp activities, including games, sports, arts and crafts, outdoor play and special events. This camp is offered at:
- Carrville Community Centre on Monday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Nov. 20
- Dufferin Community Centre Monday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Nov. 20
- Vellore Village Community Centre Monday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Nov. 20
Register your kids for December Break camps
December Break camps run daily at select community centres and Vaughan Studios & Event Space from Monday, Dec. 21, through Thursday, Dec. 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with flexible drop-off and pickup available from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Camps end at noon on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 31. There are no camps on Friday, Dec. 25 or Friday, Jan. 1, 2027.
Choose from a wide variety of camps in creative and culinary arts, sports, animation, aquatics and more! Here are a few highlights:
- Aquasquirts (for ages four to six years old)
Young swimmers will gain confidence in the water and stay active outside the pool with arts and crafts, singalongs, co-operative games and sports. This camp is offered:
- from Monday, Dec. 21 to Thursday, Dec. 24 at:
- from Monday, Dec. 28 to Thursday, Dec. 31 at:
- Aqua Adventures (for ages seven to 12 years old; offered for swim levels 1-6)
Participants learn proper stroke techniques and water safety during daily swim instruction, followed by fun water play including water polo, lifesaving sports, underwater activities and of course, recreational swimming. Campers dry off with activities such as arts & crafts, games and sports. This camp is offered at:- Chancellor Community Centre
- North Thornhill Community Centre
- Winter Adventures: Junior (for ages four to six years old) and Senior (for ages seven to 12 years old)
Campers will enjoy arts and crafts, sports, games, outdoor recreational skating (weather permitting), special guests and much more! This camp is offered at multiple locations.
- Hockey Stars: Junior (for ages five to seven years old) and Senior (for ages eight to 12 years old)
Perfect for young players who eat, sleep and breathe hockey. Campers will elevate core hockey fundamentals through focused, high-energy days spent sharpening skating technique, powering up puck control and boosting speed and agility in a fun and supportive environment. - Stop Motion Animation: LEGO® Studio (for ages seven to 12 years old)
In partnership with Film Camp in a Box, campers will bring LEGO® and clay to life through stop-motion animation. This camp is offered from Monday, Dec. 21 to Thursday, Dec. 24 at Maple Community Centre.
- Chef’s Apprentice (for ages 10 to 13 years old)
Campers step into the kitchen to learn essential cooking skills like chopping, measuring and sautéing while creating new recipes each day. When they’re not cooking, campers can enjoy swimming, sports, arts and crafts. This camp is offered from Monday, Dec. 21 to Thursday, Dec. 24 at Maple Community Centre.
