City announces new playground and renewed bocce courts at Sports Village Park

Vibrant new additions for recreation, play and connection are coming to Vaughan’s Sports Village Park (2600 Rutherford Rd.), located within The Sports Village campus, which will form an important next step in its continued evolution into a premier sports and recreation hub.

Earlier today, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council gathered to announce the exciting new amenities at Sports Village Park. Located at 2600 Rutherford Rd., the park spans across 9.12 hectares (approximately 22 acres), offering something for everyone – whether you’re looking to get active or simply enjoy the outdoors.

From a modern playground and shaded seating areas to new, scenic pathways and renewed bocce courts, the park is being thoughtfully improved for both active recreation and relaxed community moments. As part of The Sports Village’s ongoing transformation, these new facilities will seamlessly connect to existing amenities, including a junior baseball diamond, a fully lit senior diamond and beach volleyball courts.

The new facilities will be open for play by the end of this year. Learn more about what’s coming to Sports Village Park, including the design rendering, at vaughan.ca/SportsVillagePark
