The new Carrville Community Centre, Library and District Park is open

 

The City of Vaughan is pleased to officially celebrate the opening of the Carrville Community Centre, Library and District Park – a new activity hub for everyone to enjoy! 

 

Celebrations were held on July 6 at the state-of-the-art facility, located at 655 Thomas Cook Ave., with Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council, library representatives and neighbourhood residents. The event included remarks from Mayor Del Duca, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and many free activities.  

 

The new community centre features a number of state-of-the-art amenities, including:

  • a gymnasium
  • a dance/fitness studio
  • a new Vaughan Public Libraries location, Carrville Library
  • a splashpad
  • a teaching kitchen
  • a walking/running track with select cardio equipment
  • change rooms
  • outdoor sport courts
  • activity rooms
  • two swimming pools
  • and more!

 

Carrville Community Centre offers a diverse and dynamic array of programs designed for every age, interest and ability. Families can take advantage of summer camps and summer recreation programs, while swimmers of all levels benefit from a full suite of aquatic options, including swim lessons, one-on-one inclusion support, aquatic leadership courses, and a variety of drop-in swims, such as aquafitness, length swim and recreation swim. The centre also features an extensive schedule of drop-in fitness classes — from yoga and Pilates to strength-based and high-intensity training. For sports enthusiasts, the gymnasium is home to drop-in basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and parent-child sports, creating an inclusive and active space for the entire community.
