The City of Vaughan is ‘knocking it out of the park’ with the conversion of an existing baseball diamond and soccer field at Vaughan Grove Sports Park (7401 Martin Grove Rd.) into state-of-the-art artificial turf playing areas.

Earlier today, Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council and representatives from the City of Vaughan Baseball/Softball Association and the Woodbridge Soccer Club came together to announce this exciting milestone for the local sports community.

The new artificial turf baseball diamond – the first of its kind in York Region – will extend playing seasons, improve field conditions and create more opportunities for athletes of all ages to enjoy. In August 2027, the city will proudly host the Baseball Canada 15U National Championship for five consecutive years – with games set to take place on the enhanced diamond at Vaughan Grove Sports Park, putting Vaughan on the national stage.

The new FIFA-standard artificial turf soccer field, the third at the park, will further enhance the facility’s recreational offerings. Construction on both fields is expected to be completed by June 2027.
