The City of Vaughan is conducting a Water and Wastewater Rate Study to review the current rates and rate structure for the delivery of water and wastewater services to Vaughan residents and businesses – and we want to hear from you!

The City is responsible for delivering safe, clean drinking water and for collecting and treating wastewater in Vaughan. This includes ongoing maintenance of infrastructure – like pipes, pumps, hydrants and water meters – as well as water quality testing and programs that help detect and reduce leaks across the system.

Your input is important in helping shape a sustainable funding model that supports reliable water and wastewater services for the community, environment and future growth of Vaughan.

The City reviews its rates every few years or on an as-needed basis to ensure the existing structure continues to be the most appropriate.

The City’s water and wastewater rates provide funding to support water and wastewater operations and assets in accordance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, Ontario Water Resources Act and Environmental Protection Act. The City’s water distribution and wastewater collection assets are managed and maintained to meet provincially issued system and facility operating permits, as well as the City’s performance and reliability targets.
