Refreshing your space before the winter months? Your unwanted items could become someone else’s treasure during the City of Vaughan’s final Curbside Giveaway Days of the year, taking place on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25!

This waste reduction program allows you to place gently used items, such as home décor, clothing, sports equipment and books, at the curb for others to take free of charge on designated weekends

How to participate

Follow these tips for a successful Curbside Giveaway weekend:

  • Place your giveaway items curbside on the morning of Curbside Giveaway Days, starting at 7 a.m.
  • Bring in any unclaimed items by 5 p.m. on Sunday. Items left at the curb after that time could result in a by-law violation.
  • Download and print a “FREE” curbside giveaway poster (PDF) to place on your items.
  • Keep items you do not want to give away close to your home or inside to avoid confusion.
  • Keep sidewalks and fire hydrants clear.
  • Only take items that are marked “free.”
  • Respect private property and do not walk on residents’ lawns or gardens.
  • Obey traffic laws at all times. Do not block traffic or driveways.
  • Spread the word about your items on social media using #VaughanCurbGiveaway.
