It’s Waste Reduction Week!
Follow along for waste-less tips all week
Have you ever wondered what the circular economy is or how you can reduce waste at home? Waste Reduction Week is the perfect opportunity to learn new ways to make a positive impact – and it’s on now, from Monday, Oct. 19 to Sunday, Oct. 25!
Each year, the City of Vaughan proclaims Waste Reduction Week to encourage residents to adopt waste-less habits and learn about our collective responsibility to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. This year, there is a different waste-related theme each day highlighting the many ways we can all waste less:
- Monday, Oct. 19: construction materials
- Tuesday, Oct. 20: textiles
- Wednesday, Oct. 21: electronics
- Thursday, Oct. 22: plastics
- Friday, Oct. 23: food waste
- Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25: share, reuse and repair
Follow the City of Vaughan’s official social media channels on X and Instagram throughout the week for practical tips, ideas and resources to help reduce waste in your everyday life.
Waste Reduction Week is an example of the City’s commitment to protecting the environment and fostering a sustainable future – a priority outlined in the Council-approved 2022-2026 Term of Council Service Excellence Strategic Plan.
