South Asian culture, food and community spirit was on display this week in Vaughan! On May 26, hundreds of residents gathered at Vaughan City Hall for the City of Vaughan’s third annual South Asian Heritage Month celebration

“It was wonderful to see so many friends and neighbours attend the City of Vaughan’s annual South Asian Heritage Month event at City Hall,” said Mayor Steven Del Duca. “It truly was a wonderful evening filled with captivating performances, delicious food and lots of energy and fun. May is a meaningful time to recognize the beauty of South Asian culture, art and heritage and the many incredible contributions Canadians of South Asian descent have made to the social and economic fabric of Vaughan and beyond. Thank you to everyone who came out this year to celebrate with us, and happy South Asian Heritage Month!”

This year’s event honoured and commemorated the richness of South Asian art, heritage and culture. Festivities included greetings from Mayor Del Duca, and traditional music and dance performances.
