Celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with the City of Vaughan’s Nativity Scene Display
Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council invite you to get into the Christmas spirit by joining us at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) on Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the official recognition of the City of Vaughan’s Nativity Scene Display.
This event will include official remarks, music, refreshments and more.
If you are unable to join us at the event, we welcome you to come by Vaughan City Hall to visit the nativity scene, which will be on display until the Epiphany on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026. Please note, City of Vaughan municipal offices will be observing a Festive Closure from noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24 until Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.
This initiative comes following Council support of a Members’ Resolution brought forward by Mayor Del Duca and Ward 2 Councillor Adriano Volpentesta in November 2025 requesting City staff obtain and install a nativity scene at City Hall for this Christmas season and in all future Christmas seasons.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Confirm your attendance for the event online.

QUOTES
“The City of Vaughan proudly recognizes and embraces the rich cultural and faith traditions that shape our city. In that spirit, Councillor Adriano Volpentesta and I brought forward a joint Members’ Resolution requesting City staff install a nativity scene at Vaughan City Hall annually. Christmas is a significant time for Christians in Vaughan and around the world to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. This new display reflects the City’s commitment to honouring this meaningful holiday and sharing its message of peace, compassion and joy. Thank you to Councillor Volpentesta for partnering with me on this important initiative. To everyone celebrating, I extend my warmest wishes for a merry Christmas.”
- Mayor Steven Del Duca
“It gives me great pleasure to bring a nativity scene to Vaughan City Hall in celebration of Christmas. At the City of Vaughan, we love to celebrate the traditions that bring people together and make our community vibrant. The nativity scene is a reminder of the love and hope at the heart of this special Christian holiday. I want to thank Mayor Steven Del Duca for his leadership and collaboration on this project. I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas!”
- Councillor Adriano Volpentesta, Ward 2
