Celebrate the opening of Carrville Community Centre, Library and District Park!

There’s a new place to play in Vaughan! Mark your calendar and join the City of Vaughan for a fun-filled afternoon to celebrate the grand opening of the Carrville Community Centre, Library and District Park (655 Thomas Cook Ave.) on Sunday, July 6 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will kick off with a warm welcome from Mayor Steven Del Duca, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially celebrate this new community hub.
The best part? It’s FREE and open to everyone!
Enjoy a range of indoor and outdoor activities for all ages – plus giveaways and entertainment throughout the event.
Outdoor activities include:
- a live interactive DJ
- stilt-walking entertainers
- a balloon artist and glitter tattoos
- FREE ice cream
Plus, explore the new outdoor amenities – including a playground, splashpad, pump track and basketball courts!
Step inside for even more fun, including:
- colouring stations
- CPR and AED demonstrations
- cupcake decorating
- employment information booth
- family dance classes (such as waltz, cha cha and salsa)
- free swimming, including fitness and lifesaving relay challenges in the pool
- a free-throw competition, soccer drills and obstacle courses, and camp games
- life-sized games
- a learn to swim and aquatic leadership information booth
- movement and dance classes for older adults
- a photo opportunity with Buddy the Lifeguard Dog
- Zumba and yoga
The fun continues in the new library, including:
- button making
- face painting
- giant Connect 4 games
- iSpy game
- a photo booth
- a pop-up story time
- STEAM activities
