Vaughan Animal Services (VAS) is dedicated to creating a safe community for pets and their owners – which includes offering microchipping services and rabies vaccines.

Book an appointment to bring your pets to the microchip and rabies clinic at the Vaughan Animal Shelter (located at 70 Tigi Crt., Unit 47) on Sunday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call the City of Vaughan at 905-832-2281 to schedule your timeslot. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

The following services can be booked in advance and will be available at the clinic:

  • Microchip implant and registration ($25 per pet plus tax)

  • A rabies vaccine, certificate and tag ($20 per pet plus tax)

  • A City of Vaughan 2024 pet licence ($25 per pet)

Having your pet microchipped helps to easily identify and safely reunite you with them if they are lost. Vaccinating your pet against rabies helps with medical follow-ups for people or animals potentially exposed to infected animals. Hosting these clinics help supplement and manage the costs of sheltering animals and providing education, outreach and compliance measures.

As a reminder, all City facilities are cashless. Everyone is welcome to attend the clinics, you do not need to live in Vaughan to book an appointment.

Aren’t able to attend? You can get or renew a pet licence online! To start, look at your pet licence renewal letter to find your login information. You can also contact the City at 905-832-2281 to obtain a login. If this is your first time registering for a pet licence, you can create an account directly online.

All dogs and cats in Vaughan must wear a licence (numbered tag), purchased from the City, at all times. Licences are not transferrable.

Dog and cat licences expire annually and must be renewed before the purchase anniversary date to ensure your pet’s information is kept up to date. Existing registered owners will be notified at renewal time.
