North Maple Regional Park (NMRP)

In 2018, 80 hectares (197 acres) of parkland opened to the public with the following facilities:

• two FIFA-certified artificial turf soccer fields with built-in spectator seating
• a park pavilion, including a terrace, washrooms, changerooms and drinking fountains
• picnic areas with shade shelters and seating
• a toboggan hill (opening winter 2025)
• an asphalt parking area with spaces for 200 vehicles
• variety of walking and hiking trails
• free Wi-Fi that is available at the park pavilion and soccer fields
• cricket field

Yes, a new Family Recreation Area is being planned! Guided by three pillars – Restore. Engage. Play. – the area will promote activities related to restoring nature, sharing culture, promoting active living and building community. It is envisioned to include a variety of amenities for all ages and seasons, including playgrounds, water play, a youth zone, shade shelters, boardwalks, pathways, a skating trail, pond lookout, benches, a picnic area, pavilion, gardens, additional parking and year-round washroom facilities. 

The City is also undertaking a master plan to develop the entire 900-acre site. The master plan will bring the park’s vision to life, and help guide its ongoing and long-term development, programming and management. The master plan will foster opportunities to restore the natural environment, engage the community, and provide a place for active living. Through the master planning process, the community will be provided with opportunities to provide feedback. Stay tuned for more details on how to be involved as opportunities arise!

A Special Events Permit is required to hold a variety of special events in Vaughan, such as athletic events (community runs or races), outdoor exhibitions, filming (including student filming), parades, processions, festivals, and street parties/social events. North Maple Regional Park does not have a designated off-leash dog area, therefore you must keep your dog on a leash at all times when visiting. If you’re looking to visit a designated off-leash dog area in Vaughan, you can visit any of the following locations:

• Concord/Thornhill Regional Park, located at 299 Racco Pkwy. 
• Giovanni Caboto Park, located at 75 Matthew Dr. 
• Legion Park, located at 70 Legion Court Rd. 
• Mackenzie Glen District Park, located at 220 Cranston Park Ave. 
• Matthew Park, located at 1 Villa Royale Ave. 
• Sugarbush Heritage Park, located at 91 Thornhill Woods Dr.
