Community Cleanup

Littering can be harmful to people, animals and the natural environment, and has many negative consequences on the community and everyone’s quality of life. It can harm the environment as many items do not biodegrade and it can be dangerous for pets and wildlife as they may eat or be injured by discarded items.

The goal of the City of Vaughan’s Community Cleanup Program is to provide the public (community members, not-for-profit organizations or businesses) an opportunity to help the City take action to preserve the environment by collecting litter within parks, trails and open spaces (City-owned/public space only) in Vaughan.

Upon request, the City can provide garbage bags and gloves for the cleanup and can pick up the collected litter following the event.

As well, by participating in a community cleanup, you have the opportunity to be a Green Guardian of your city. Show pride for your community, take action against litter and help create a clean community for everyone to enjoy. Green Guardians is the City of Vaughan’s new environmental sustainability program, where citizens are encouraged to get involved with events and activities that promote environmental stewardship and keep Vaughan safe, clean and beautiful.

Please complete the Community Cleanup registration form and a City representative will contact you to discuss your clean-up event.
