The day for spending time with family, friends and loved ones is almost here. With that in mind, the City of Vaughan is reminding citizens about facility closures, alternate hours and changes in programming on Monday, Feb. 21.

"I am pleased to announce the City of Vaughan has received the Mayor's Energy Challenge Advocate Award from the ClimateWise Business Network for our dedicated support of the Provincial Energy and Water Reporting and Benchmarking initiative.

With many more weeks of winter still ahead, we can expect to see more snowfalls in the forecast. The City of Vaughan’s winter crews are ready to take them on – but could use some help. If you have a catch basin, fire hydrant or sidewalk near your property, you can help clear it of snow and ice to keep operations running smoothly.

What is anti-icing?

Snow may be pretty as it’s falling, but it can impact the way you set out waste. The City of Vaughan is committed to providing helpful tips and reminders about waste collection during the winter to ensure it can run smoothly, safely and efficiently.

What is plowing?

Plowing involves removing snow and ice accumulation from roads and sidewalks. During a snow event, the City is responsible for plowing municipal roads throughout Vaughan.
