McNaughton Road West Environmental Assessment

The study assessed operational performance improvements and urbanization of McNaughton Road West, and considered the inclusion of sidewalks, cycling facilities, and mid-block and trail crossings to support the connection to the proposed Vaughan Super Trail and Bartley Smith Greenway Trail. These improvements will aim to address capacity and operational needs to accommodate planned growth in the area for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and motorists.

The recommended McNaughton Road West improvements include:

Temporary fire ban in effect for Vaughan

Ban in place for 30 days or until conditions improve

Due to unseasonably dry and hot conditions, and out of an abundance of caution, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service is issuing a total fire ban effective immediately.

Burning of any kind is not permitted within the city of Vaughan while the fire ban is active. This ban has been issued for the protection of property, public safety and the safety of the firefighters that would have to respond to an incident.

Calling all lifeguards and swim instructors!

We’re hiring qualified staff aged 15 and older

Following a recent announcement from the Province of Ontario, the City of Vaughan is lowering the minimum age to be a lifeguard and swim instructor to 15 years old. This change aligns with updated age requirements established by the Lifesaving Society’s lifeguard and lifesaving and swim instructor certification courses.
