Every year, at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month, we honour the brave Canadians who served and continue to serve our country. 

On Saturday, Nov. 11, starting at 10:45 a.m., Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council will host a Remembrance Day service at the Woodbridge Cenotaph (80 Wallace St.) to commemorate the brave Canadians who risked – and, in many cases, lost – their lives during times of war, conflict and peace.

Spooky season is over, which means you may be looking to throw away jack-o-lanterns and other seasonal decorations, such as cornstalks and straw. Take a minute to refresh your memory of what goes where!

As winter approaches, it’s the perfect time to stake a moment to reflect on how we can all help keep Vaughan safe, clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy, even in the colder months. Litter left on the ground damages soil and nearby ecosystems, but this can be avoided with proper waste-disposal etiquette.

Let’s work together to make sure trash ends up where it belongs – in the garbage, recycling or green bin – and not on our roads, walkways or in parks.

When you’re getting ready to go trick-or-treating or stay home and hand out treats, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service is providing safety tips to ensure everyone remains safe while having fun! 

On January 19, 2022, the Province met with city mayors and regional chairs at the Ontario Housing Affordability Summit to discuss the housing crisis and coordinate efforts to increase the supply of homes across the province. Premier Ford announced at the Summit that more than $45 million in funding will be provided to help Ontario’s 39 largest municipalities modernize, streamline and accelerate processes for managing and approving housing applications.
