Join us for a family-friendly event on Sunday, June 2

Join Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council to recognize Italian Heritage Month at our second annual event tomorrow – Sunday, June 2 –from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.). 

The event will honour and commemorate the richness of Italian art, heritage and culture. Festivities will feature greetings from Mayor Del Duca and complimentary pizza, porchetta, ice cream and refreshments. 

Vaughan is home to many beautiful flowers, plants and trees that help enrich the environment. But some of those plants – like noxious weeds – can be harmful, so it’s important to know what to do if you spot one. The City of Vaughan is providing resources to help you identify noxious weeds and avoid coming into contact with them.

The City of Vaughan strives to foster a diverse, inclusive and equitable community where all residents, employees, businesses and visitors are empowered to engage and participate. As we celebrate National AccessAbility Week, here are five ways we’re working to build a more accessible Vaughan: 

1. The 2023 to 2027 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

The study area includes Huntington Road, from Major Mackenzie Drive to Kirby Road, and the New Kleinburg neighbourhood area, which includes both major subdivisions accessible by Timber Creek Boulevard and Barons Street. 

This area was selected based on our commitment to continue to monitor and address traffic congestion, traffic circulation, truck traffic movements, operating speeds, pedestrian and cycling safety and on-street curbside activity.
