Youth Week

Enjoy FREE fun activities from May 1 to 7

Youth Week is an annual celebration dedicated to empowering and engaging youth! To celebrate the young people who call Vaughan home, the City is offering a variety of free activities for them from Wednesday, May 1 to Tuesday, May 7.

Registration is recommended and is now available at vaughan.perfectmind.com (under Special Events & Workshops) for this programming, which will run at our community centres and the Vaughan Studios & Event Space for youth ages 10 to 17 years old.

There are many free workshops to try, including the following:

Fitness

Push yourself to the limit. Create your own workout program, participate in a dead hang or push up and wall sit challenge, learn to squat and deadlift, come out to a Farmer’s Walk Event, join a Queenax bootcamp or test your strength and flexibility with a yoga class.

Throughout Youth Week, each Vaughan Fitness Centre will offer a free fitness day, providing youth ages 13 to 17 years old free access to all fitness centres services, programs and amenities. Registration is not required to use the facilities, however, signed parental consent is mandatory – this can be done at the front desk when you sign in. For more information about locations and amenities, visit vaughan.ca/fitness

Sports

Bring a friend or challenge a new opponent and have a good time playing friendly, organized sports games. Whether you’re into badminton, pickleball, archery, bowling or recreational skating, the City has what you need to stay active and have fun!

Prefer to shoot some hoops? Showcase your ball-handling skills in a three-on-three basketball tournament. Teams will be made on-site.

Aquatics

Looking to dive into new challenges or have a relaxing swim around the pool? Look no further! From pool parties and length and recreational swims to a fitness challenge and line throw challenge, you can dive into new water and put your aquatic skills to the ultimate test.

Want to learn how to respond to and stay safe in emergency situations? Learn basic CPR and AED concepts that could save someone’s life. Please note, this is an interactive discussion and not a certification program.
