Show your pride!
Join us at Vaughan’s Pride Month celebration on June 24
– To recognize Pride Month in June, the City of Vaughan is hosting a Pride event at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) outside in the courtyard and in the Vaughan Room on Tuesday, June 24 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – and you’re invited!
This FREE event will feature official remarks from Mayor Steven Del Duca, a spoken word artist, a flag raising ceremony and educational sessions by Pflag York Region and York Pride.
Pride is an annual observance, celebrating and recognizing the Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer, and other gender and sexually diverse (2SLGBTQ+) communities, their histories, achievements and ongoing struggles for equal rights and acceptance. This event is a celebration of 2SLGBTQ+ social and self-acceptance, achievements, legal rights and pride, serving as a platform to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Confirm your attendance for the event online.
The City has proclaimed Pride Week every year since 2003 and Pride Month since 2020, and celebrated through various events, including the raising of the rainbow flag during Pride Week and hosting official flag-raising ceremonies. This year, the City has once again proclaimed June as Pride Month and will commemorate it through a community Pride event and flag raising.
