Step 1: check what permits are needed for your project. Many common home improvements – including pools, cabanas, sheds, removal of non-load-bearing walls, new entrances, new plumbing fixtures and home additions – require approval to ensure they meet safety standards and local regulations. Review the types of pool permits, grading permits and building permits required for various residential projects before moving forward.
