NOW OPEN: Velmar Downs Park
Come out and enjoy the new amenities!
Residents now have even more reasons to get outside and enjoy their local park! The City of Vaughan is pleased to announce that upgrades to Velmar Downs Park (30 Velmar Dr.) are complete and the park is officially ready for play.
On Aug. 5, Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council and community members came together to celebrate the reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, remarks, an interactive DJ and free ice cream.
The revitalized park features several new amenities designed to enhance recreation, accessibility and community enjoyment, including:
- a new and expanded playground
- a new basketball court
- a new shade structure
- a new seating area
- new landscaping and plantings
- enhanced pathways
These improvements reflect the City’s commitment to creating vibrant public spaces where residents can connect, play and stay active close to home.
