MacMillan Farm Master Plan sets vision for vibrant, heritage-rich community space
MacMillan Farm is a unique and valued part of Vaughan’s history, rooted in rich agricultural and natural heritage – and the master plan (PDF) that will guide the development of this site is now complete.
Located at 9605 Dufferin St., the site features barns, heritage homes, open fields, forests, a nature reserve, informal pathways and a creek.
As Vaughan continues to grow, MacMillan Farm presents an opportunity to thoughtfully integrate heritage preservation with new amenities for the community to enjoy. The master plan outlines a vision for a future space that honours the site’s past while creating new opportunities for leisure, culture and connection.
The plan identifies opportunities to foster nature exploration, demonstrate sustainability and celebrate the site’s agricultural and ecological legacy. Guided by six key pillars – nature-based destination, agricultural legacy, climate resiliency, model of innovation, Indigenous placekeeping and stewardship – the master plan establishes a framework for thoughtful, community-focused destination and a phased approach to developing the site.
