Help us plan for city-wide privately owned public spaces
Take a survey to have your say by May 5
The City of Vaughan is working to establish a new set of standards and guidelines to help plan, design, develop and maintain privately owned public spaces – and you can have a say!
Privately owned public spaces (also known as POPS) are located within private properties, such as office buildings and condominiums. POPS provide more places and opportunities for Vaughan residents to relax, socialize and enjoy passive and active outdoor recreational activities.
The City is undertaking the POPS study in response to provincial legislative changes from Bill 23. The study aims to integrate POPS effectively into Vaughan’s open space network and set expectations regarding planning, design, maintenance and operations. The goal is to make them attractive, functional, accessible and vital public places offering high quality amenities.
