Learn how we’re managing stormwater in the VMC
As the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) continues to transform into a vibrant downtown core with plenty of transportation connections, housing options, retail, public amenities and so much more, we continue to put plans in place to manage this growth.
That includes ensuring the VMC’s stormwater infrastructure – such as storm sewers and stormwater facilities – remain functional, effective and safe for the growing community.
The City of Vaughan is undertaking the VMC Stormwater Management and Drainage Enhancement Environmental Assessment Study to evaluate current and alternative stormwater controls within the area to ensure they can mitigate flooding and stormwater runoff into streets, parks, lawns and more.
Get involved
The City is hosting a second Public Information Centre for you to review and provide feedback on the proposed options for stormwater management facilities within the VMC. Options include installing underground stormwater management tanks, retrofitting existing stormwater management ponds and adding new stormwater management ponds, among many others.
Here are the Public Information Centre details:

Time: Drop in anytime from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to speak to the project team and have your say.
