Do you play tennis or pickleball? Wish there were more racquet sport courts to play at in Vaughan? Then we’re calling on you to get involved in the City of Vaughan’s Tennis and Racquet Sports Study. Now in Phase 2, get involved to give us additional feedback on what is important to you.

Racquet sports continue to grow in popularity among Vaughan’s residents. There are currently 136 tennis courts located in 58 locations across the city, and 30 shared-used pickleball courts at 14 locations city-wide. There is also interest from community tennis clubs and associations to use public facilities as their memberships increase. Due to the high demand, the City is undertaking a Tennis and Racquet Sports Study to identify opportunities and partnerships to meet court time needs.

Initial public feedback collected helped the City assess how people use existing racquet sports courts and programming and identify community needs and preferences. Now, as the study progresses, we need your input once again – this time, we want to understand what’s important to you, what we should prioritize when considering options to improve racquet sports access, including choices and trade-offs.

Have thoughts? Tell us! Drop by one of our Open Houses taking place this month:

About the Tennis and Racquet Sports Study

The Tennis and Racquet Sports Study is intended to address community needs (including clubs and associations), respond to changing facility use and demand, and introduce new types of racquet sports, such as pickleball. The study will include a review of court facilities and associated policies, the development of guidelines, an implementation plan and more. Once complete, the study will help improve access and operations, including the number, location and types of facilities across Vaughan.
